NBR Chairman Mr. Abu Hena Mohammad Rahmatul Muneem requested everyone to come forward for social integration of the transgender community. He said, Fair Group has set an extraordinary example in corporate initiatives by employing a good number of transgenders.
Fair Group Chairman Mr. Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub presided over the CSR Meet. Senior Secretary, IRD and Chairman NBR Mr. Muneem, was speaking as the chief guest at this meeting titled “Social Inclusion of Transgender Community” at Tejgaon on Saturday, April 15.
Fair Group Chairman Mr. Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub said, we already employed more than 30 transgenders in different SBUs of our group. We have taken steps to increase this number. All these we are doing to ensure social inclusion of transgenders community. He requested all private sector entrepreneurs to come up for this reason.
Additional IGP and Head of Tourist Police Mr. Habibur Rahman, BPM (Bar), PPM (Bar) was present as special guest. Referring his own initiatives for the neglected transgender community, he said, great steps taken by Fair Group will create very positive impact on the society.
Prominent cultural personalities Shamim Ara Nipa, Sadia Islam Mou and Amitabh Reza Chowdhury addressed the event. They said it is everyone’s responsibility to integrate transgender community into the mainstream of our society. Public-private joint efforts should ensure their human life.
Dhaka University Professor Dr. Tawhida Jahan, Bandhu Social Welfare Society Executive Director Mr. Saleh Ahmed and TransEnd Founder Lamia Tanha also participated.
Fair Group Director Mr. Mutassim Daiaan delivered welcome speech and Advisor and former Senior Secretary Mr. N M Zeaul Alam, gave vote of thanks.
